An engaging play park for Selo's smaller residents is the focal point of the village's large internal park.

Landscape Architect Helen Mellsop has designed a play space with soft cushioning that will encourage the little ones to get off the screens and outside into the fresh air, with elements to encourage natural and imaginative play.

Gather friends and family to kick a ball around or challenge your neighbour to a one-on-one, shooting hoops in the dedicated multi-use games area, with artificial grass for a perfect pitch year-round and fencing to catch any stray balls from overly enthusiastic kicks and missed catches.

Get on your bike

Every home at Selo has its own allocated car park space, but with more and more people choosing pedal-powered transportation to get from A to B, somewhere to house your bike is essential.

Ample communal bicycle storage lockers complete with power to charge E-bikes will be dotted throughout the village to keep your bikes secure and out of the elements.

Whether you want to beat the traffic on your daily commute or explore one of the many biking trails in the West, if you're not already a cyclist, this could be just the push you needed to encourage you to swap four wheels for two.

Superfast, supersized, supersmart fibre network

Get up to 10 times faster fibre.

Selo has partnered with a network provider to deliver a state-of-the-art fibre network to the village. A network with this grade of equipment and connectivity is typically only seen in large-scale commercial premises, high-end hotels and apartment buildings.

Delivering speeds up to 10 times faster than standard fibre (even in common areas), this embedded fibre and power network has been custom-designed for Selo. An on-site data access gateway will monitor demand for the fibre network, so your fibre speeds will be consistently fast even in peak demand.

Already ground-breaking in its capability and capacity, this network is future-proofed to accommodate additional features (such as EV car charging hubs) and emerging technologies, so it can always be several steps ahead.

For the fur kids

The four-legged members of your family will be pampered living at Selo, with plenty of open green spaces and pocket parks; a great way to forge bonds with your fellow dog-loving neighbours.

A dog-washing station means you won't have to bathe your pooch in your house after it takes a roll in the mud in Parr's Park or an off-leash dip in Oratia Stream.

In a close-knit community such as Selo, there will likely be a friendly neighbour to feed puss if you can't get home in time for dinner and puppy play dates in the park will be among the most sought-after invitation.

How convenient

You won't have far to go for your morning coffee fix or grabbing some last-minute essentials for dinner, with a commercial zone close at hand on the north-eastern boundary of the village.

A café is planned for this hub, in addition to four commercial spaces, which will be accessible to the wider neighbourhood by foot or by bike to form a community focus.
